Large Depth of Field
Emma had the opportunity to go on a trip to New York City for a weekend with her family, so all her large depth of field photos were taken in NYC. In large depth of field photographs, the whole picture is in focus unlike shallow depth of field were only a part of the photo is in focus. Having the whole picture in focus lets you see the depth in the photo. Large depth of field photos have a large aperture number, (f/8, f/10, f/16, f/22), which makes a small opening so not a lot of light comes through. In this assignment, Emma practices the rule of thirds in her pictures. Her favorite piece is M&M World because of the colors in the M&M's. Emma also liked the composition of the photograph, vertical M&M strand and then the M&M's World plaque on the wall behind it. Overall, Emma enjoyed taking large depth of field photographs because she thinks it can show everything that is going on in a picture, especially in a busy place like New York City!
